The connect is Tintin.
The places are USA, USSR, Congo and Tibet - which are places Tintin travelled to in different books.
TINTIN in (clockwise) :1) America 2) the Congo 3) Land of the Soviets 4) Tibet; with the moon in the center refering to the lunar adventures.
