It is the longest mono syllable word (9 Letters) in English.

CORRECTION: Although this has been an age old quiz question, but some further research shows me there are other 9 letter mono syllable words too and here's a list of them.

Although 'Squirelled' has also been mentioned in some places as the longest such word, but since most dictionaries do not accept it as a word, we are not considering it.
