Question Of The Day: 11th June, 2008

QOTD is back, and this time for real...well almost! To set the expectations straight from the beginning, let us call this something like QOTD - Light!

The reason which took me close to 2 years to upload this question is lack of time. Not that I didn't have time for a single question for 2 years, but the amount of time and commitment required to carry on the daily show with collecting and tabulating answers was not feasible. And I apologise to each and every one of you, who wrote to me almost every month for the last 2 years to revive Inquizzitive QOTD. I hope this new version does some justice to the love you showed for the blog:)

Main points for QOTD - Light!

1) There will be no fixed time for questions. In fact, more often than not questions will not be uploaded daily.

2) Perhaps what is about to be the most unpopular point, this season will not have any scoring attached with it. I am sorry, but I really will not be able to do justice to a scoring format which we had got used to. So, please do not send your answers to me, I won't be able to respond or tabulate scores.

3) I had the option of not doing anything at all (which I did for the last 21 months) or doing whatever little is possible, I am choosing the latter option starting today:)

4) IMPORTANT: I will upload questions at anytime. And I will also provide the answer to the previous question at the same time. In case you want this emailed to you, please join any or all of the following Quiz e-groups, which will carry my mails as soon as the new questions are published:

Quizzards_2k4@yahoogroups.com

Jigyasa@yahoogroups.com

Indiq@googlegroups.com

Internal Googlers, you will continue to be notified of any updates through the internal quizzing mailing list.

5) I once again take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you who wrote to me over the last many months, saying how much you liked the blog and how much you missed the QOTD series. It was very humbling indeed. I know this won't do full justice to all that love and appreciation, but let's hope it manages something at least.

With that I declare QOTD - Light! open.

I have no clue about the standards of the day, so starting with something I think continues from where we left in September 2006. Your feedback will be most helpful.
Simple. Connect.
