Question Of The Day: 17th March, 2010

After stumbling upon the RISE y'day, I am a little paranoid and have set a 2nd level of connect question. Also, if you're using any RISE do let me know how it changed the experience. Feedback will be important to tailor future Inquizzitive questions. As of now, connect!

Difficulty Level - Tough

Please leave your answers as comments. They are moderated and will be published along with the correct answer.

And the correct answer is:

Garuda (the Bird like creature from the Mahabharata)
Pictures in clockwise order (from top left):
Cover of the book of fables, Panchatantra. It was written by Vishnu Sharma. Garuda is the vahana (mount) of Lord Vishnu.
The members of the music band - The Eagles, Garuda is said to have an Eagle's face.
Sukarno, the first President of Indonesia. Garuda is the national symbol and national airlines of Indonesia.

Ok.. here goes nothing.. The man is Sukarno, which is the name of the airport in Jakarta, which is the official airport for Lion Air.

The cover of the book is Aesop's "The Lion and the Eagles."

The band is "The Eagles"

As is my lazy MO, I used RISE to get that one was Panchatantra, and the other was Sukarno. The third (the band photo) is not in Tineye's db yet, so I won't bother. Of the three, if there is only one common element between any pair, it would be possible to extrapolate the 2nd level connect's answer, based on any two. So Sukarno came up with a Panchashila philosophical thingy which means five principles in Sanskrit, which is what Panchatantra also means. Given there's nothing else that jumped out at me that was common between Sukarno and Panch (although I'll admit I did not have the patience to read the full articles), I'll assume that the rock band also has something similar associated with it.

Will recommend that Suhel spares you quizzards mechanical effort and names any images that can be revealed via Tineye.

It's not tough, it's 33% nuts. How on earth do you connect vishnu sharma and lord vishnu's vehicle.

and hence, stick my neck out for my connect : Overthrow/breakaway/coup seems to be the connect. Rabbit ousts lion in the Panchatantra tale, Sukarno is ousted by General Suharto in a coup and Don Henley of Eagles is the breakaway artist with huge solo commercial success.

@Alekhya - I really like your answer and don't mind giving the points:)

now, that is an incentive for inquizzitive.
